Podium Finish at Season Finale for Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin for Justin Di Benedetto

Vaughan (ON), September 4, 2022 – Justin Di Benedetto secures his third podium of the year in the Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin (SCCC) series finale.

The Canadian native fielding the #4 Gamelancer | Di Benedetto Racing | Bestline Auto Tech Audi RS3 LMS fought a hard battle at the season finale at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bownmanville, Ontario this past weekend taking the third step on the podium.

“We had a great race on Sunday,” said Justin. “Our team gave me an amazing car. Our Audi RS3 LMS was absolutely on rails and we fought a very hard battle bringing home some hardware for our team and partners. I would like to thank our engineer Keith Willis, Matt Hardiman, Vito Scavon, the entire team at Best Line Auto Tech and my family and friends for a great weekend.”

This podium is Justin’s third podium for the season in the SCCC series in the highly competitive TCR class.

  • P2 - Round 9 – Calabogie Motorsport Park
  • P1 - Round 10 – Calabogie Motorsport Park
  • P3 - Round 12 – Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

“Our goal for this season was to move the team and Justin into the Sports Car Championship Canada Series presented by Michelin, Canada’s top tier touring car series (TCR). The 2022 series was to be a learning experience for us as we keep moving up the ladder in sports car racing in North America.”, commented Tony Di Benedetto, Team Principal. “What we were able to achieve was far beyond our expectations and I am very proud of Justin and our entire team on our achievements. Justin finished 4th in the overall series standings amongst thirteen drivers in the TCR class.

The team is looking now to take delivery of its new Gen 2 – Audi RS3 LMS TCR in late September of this year and compete in regional races in the off season in Canada and in the USA.
